The Implications of using some Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools for Enhancing Cognitive Perception: An Analytical Study of the opinions of a sample of Academic Staff at Nineveh and Al-Hamdaniya Universities in Nineveh Governorate

Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the function of some Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) tools, including ChatGPT, Upword, Grammarly, Consensus, Elicit, SheetAI App, and AI Excel Bot, in the development of cognitive perception dimensions. These dimensions encompass the following: An investigation was conducted into the Knowledge Perception, Task Perception and Strategic Thinking Perception of a sample of employees at the University of Nineveh and Al-Hamdaniya University in Nineveh Governorate. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical methodology to measure the research variables, utilising a sample of 90 employees. For the purpose of data collection, a validated questionnaire was administered to the participants, and the gathered data were statistically analysed using SPSS V.26. The research yielded several key findings, the most notable of which was the identification of a statistically significant correlation between the utilisation of generative AI tools and cognitive perception.
